Experiences and impressions of Orchard Road Shopping. After my arrival in Singapore in the late afternoon with the Lufthansa flight LH778 from Frankfurt and the overnight stay at the “Sheraton Hotel Singapore & Towers”, I wanted to go directly to Orchard Road, the largest shopping and dining area directly in Singapore – and really crazy.

Orchard Road Singapore and all the side streets really do offer everything you could possibly want. From various fashion stores, different restaurants (such as a Charlie Brown restaurant!) and cafés to cheap T-shirts, fake cell phone covers and hair extensions of all kinds in the Far East Center.
Orchard Road Shopping – Luxury & Casual
The new premium shopping temple in Singapore is called the ION Center. With millions of lights and installations all over the building. It opened in July 2009 and is a must-visit in Singapore.
At the same time, all the major labels are represented with flagship stores. From Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Harry Winston, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Cartier. But also stores such as Topshop, H&M and many more – the right place for everyone.
People on Orchard Road
Orchard Road is really busy almost 24 hours a day and has more than two faces, especially in the evening. During the day you will see many tourists and business people. In the evening, on the other hand, there are lots of young couples, beautifully styled. Girls in super short mini skirts, extremely high heels with friends in fancy clothes. The perfect place for a first impression of Singapore!
Backdrop for top models – Orchard Road Shopping
At the same time, Orchard Road Shopping has already been the backdrop for “Asia’s Next Top Model”. Incredibly beautiful girls take part in the counterpart to “America’s Next Topmodel” or “Germany’s Next Topmodel” (with Heidi Klum). I have to say, these girls are really beautiful to look at.
If you are ever thinking about a trip to Singapore, you should look for a hotel near Orchard Road for your first impression. Take a look at Orchard Road in the evening and during the day and enjoy both impressions – a very interesting place!
You’ll find out tomorrow that I don’t always make the best hotel choices and that some hotels are “average”… 🙂
